Privacy Policy for Chop Sampler

The short version: Chop Sampler does not collect, store, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Everything you make stays on your device.

Chop Sampler ("the App") is developed and published by GLYPHBYTE LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information. It applies to the Chop Sampler Android application.

1. Information we collect

None. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data about you. The App has no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics or crash-tracking software, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. We have no servers that receive your data.

2. Device permissions and why the App uses them

Everything below happens on your device only. None of it is uploaded to us or anyone else.

Microphone / audio input: so you can sample and record audio that you choose (for example from the microphone, a line input, or a USB audio device). Recorded audio is processed on your device and is never sent off the device.
Files and storage: so you can open and save your own samples, kits, projects, presets, and MIDI files. These are read and written only where you choose, and they remain on your device.
Screen / system audio capture (optional): if you use the resampling feature, the App can capture audio playing on your device, but only after you grant permission each time. This audio is used on the device only and is never transmitted.
MIDI devices: so you can play the App from a connected USB or Bluetooth MIDI controller. This is input only.
Notifications: to show an ongoing notification while the audio engine is running in the background.
Network access: used only for two optional, non-personal purposes, described in the next section.

3. Network use

The App works fully offline for its core features. It uses the network only for:

An optional one-time download of the audio "stem separation" model file, and only if you choose to use that feature. The file is downloaded to your device on demand. No information about you is sent as part of this download.
Ableton Link tempo synchronization over your local network, if you enable it. This exchanges only tempo and beat timing with other music apps on the same Wi-Fi network. No personal data is involved and nothing leaves your local network.

4. In-app purchases

If the App offers in-app purchases, those transactions are processed by Google Play. We never see or receive your payment card details. Google's handling of the transaction is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. The App only records, on your device, which items you have unlocked.

5. Data storage and retention

All of your content (samples, beats, projects, presets, and settings) is stored locally on your device. We do not receive or retain any of it. Uninstalling the App removes its data from your device in the normal way Android handles app removal.

6. Children's privacy

The App is a general-audience music creation tool and is not directed to children under 13. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect any information from children.

8. Your choices

Because we do not collect any personal data, there is nothing on our side to access, correct, or delete. You control all of your content directly on your device, and you can grant or revoke the App's device permissions at any time in your Android Settings.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
